New Mexico Environment Department Secures Funding For Mobile Air Monitoring Lab From Legal Settlement

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) is enhancing its ability to monitor air quality with a new mobile air monitoring lab, funded by a $500,000 legal settlement between conservation group WildEarth Guardians and OXY USA Inc., one of the largest oil and gas producers in the country.

The funding will allow NMED to purchase the lab, equip it with supplies, and cover start-up costs, including personnel and operational needs.

Del Norte LOV Foundation Announces Recipients Of 2024 Fall Cycle Community Grant-Making Program

The Del Norte LOV (Living Our Vision) Foundation, an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization associated with Del Norte Credit Union (DNCU), has announced the six nonprofit organization recipients of its 2024 Fall Community Grant-Making Program.

Each nonprofit organization grantee will receive $2,500 in charitable funds towards their programming for a total investment of $15,000 to the community.

State’s OBAE Announces Applications Have Opened For $675 Million In Broadband Infrastructure Grants

          • Nearly 30 entities may bid for awards in the state’s largest broadband funding program

SANTA FE – Today, the New Mexico Office of Broadband Access and Expansion (OBAE) announced that 29 entities may begin submitting applications for projects in the state’s largest funding program for broadband infrastructure.

The state will be awarding $675 million in grants through the National Telecommunications and Information Administration’s Broadband Equity Access and Deployment (BEAD) program. The federal government allocated the funds to New Mexico in 2023.
