Dragonfly Playhouse Celebrates 2nd Anniversary Friday!

The Dragonfly Playhouse Daycare will celebrate its second anniversary 9:45-11:45 a.m. Friday, Oct. 27, with a Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting and Halloween festivities at 142 Meadow Lane in White Rock.
Attendees must register in advance.

Zia Credit Union is celebrating all things local as part of its “Think Like a Local” campaign. Each month focuses on a different aspect of local business and life. In the month of October, Zia CU is hosting what it calls Free Fall Festivities, 1-4 p.m., at each of its three branches and everyone is invited.
The events are aimed at providing free fall-themed fun for kids. Activities include photo stations, crafts, free apple cider from Velarde-based Montoya Farms, and local honey from Alcade-based RZ Bees. Honey sticks will be free for kids, while RZ Bees will have jars of honey for sale. Read More

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Sen. Ben Ray Luján (D-N.M.) led 19 colleagues in a letter to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) urging the Commission to improve access to local media on streaming platforms.
Current law and Commission rules state that traditional cable and satellite networks must work directly with a local television station before broadcasting local news, sports, and other programming.
