New Mexico Film Production Spending Hits Record High Of $855.4 Million

SANTA FE — Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham announced today that direct spending into New Mexico’s economy by the film, television, and digital media production industry reached a new record of $855.4 million in fiscal year 2022, an increase of 36 percent over fiscal year 2021.

Following Gov. Lujan Grisham’s support and investment, New Mexico’s film and television industry has continued to grow by leaps and bounds: industry spending more than doubled from $292 million in FY20 to $626.5 million in FY21.

Sirphey Files $5 Million Lawsuit Against Los Alamos County And 24 Others

Sirphey, LLC, which includes Owner Prashant Jain and Communication Director Cortni Nucklos, filed a $5 million federal lawsuit June 22 against Los Alamos County, several of its entities, and individuals in County government and in the community.

The lawsuit stems from a County issued stop work order Sirphey received November 2019 for property it previously leased at 813 Central Ave., in Mari Mac Shopping Center.

Jain and Nucklos declined to comment on this pending litigation.
