SANTA FE – The Community Health Funder Alliance (CHFA) furthers its commitment toward greater health equity and improving health outcomes in northern New Mexico by awarding 59 nonprofit organizations with $1.9 million in grants.
This current round of grants brings the total investment in health outcomes in northern New Mexico to $5.5 million over the last three years.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC) Friday opened applications for the final round of its Field Empowerment Fund (FEF), a $5 million grantmaking program funded by Morgan Stanley to drive racial equity work.

FDA: Canned Clams Contaminated With Extremely High Levels Of Common ‘Forever Chemical’

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Environmental Working Group (EWG) has announced that “extremely” high levels of a common “forever chemical” linked to cancer have been detected in canned clams.
The Food and Drug Administration found (FDA) a sample of canned clams contained 20,000 parts per trillion, or ppt, of PFOA, one of the most common members of the class of toxic forever chemicals known as PFAS. All 10 samples of clams tested had high levels of PFAS and are considered likely to be a health concern by the FDA.

Kirtland Air Force Base Hosts Open House July 21

The Air Force will be hosting an Open House for the Kirtland Air Force Base (KAFB) Bulk Fuels Facility project 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 21 in Albuquerque.
This open house will be held at the KAFB Groundwater Treatment System facility, just inside the Ridgecrest Drive Gate near Bullhead Park.
