Chapter BC P.E.O. To Host Huge Multi-Family Garage Sale June 25 To Support Women’s Education

Los Alamos-based Chapter BC, P.E.O. will host a huge Multi-Family Garage sale 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 25, at both 1660 and 1646 Camino Uva on North Mesa in Los Alamos.
The proceeds from their nice quality items (no junk) will support P.E.O. philanthropies focused on providing scholarships, grants, awards, loans and the stewardship of Cottey College for women to pursue education.

HSD Adds Sites To Apply For Disaster Food Benefits

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Human Services Department (HSD) announced two additional application sites for the public to seek disaster food Benefits (D-SNAP) Thursday.
The sites, located in Mora and Holman, join the existing four locations and all HSD income support division offices.
Impacted residents can apply for D-SNAP at the new sites and their hours of operation are:

ALBUQUERQUE — Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) is available for individuals whose employment was impacted by the 2022 Wildfires.
The deadline to apply is June 15, 2022. Applications filed after the deadline may be denied unless the individual provides good cause for filing after that date; therefore, claimants should file as soon as possible.
