Los Alamos County Environmental Services Division and the Environmental Sustainability Board announce the winners of the Los Alamos County 2022 Zero Waste Champion of the Year awards.
Each spring the County presents the Zero Waste Champion of the Year awards to promote environmental sustainability and zero waste in the community, as well as to encourage more local businesses and schools to participate. Balderas Announces Prison Sentences For Former Restaurant Employees Convicted Of Stealing Over $1 Million From Roswell Restaurant

ALBUQUERQUE — New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas announced Thursday that a Fifth Judicial District Court judge sentenced Brian Casaus to 10 years of incarceration and Tammy Casaus to one year of incarceration.
The defendants, a married couple and former Cattle Baron employees, pled guilty to charges including racketeering, embezzlement, money laundering, and tax fraud. Both defendants will pay restitution to the Cattle Baron and to the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department.

FBI: Male ‘Shop And Rob Bandit’ In Women’s Clothes Suspected In Second Albuquerque Bank Robbery

The “Shop and Rob Bandit” apparently robbed another Albuquerque bank today, but this time the unidentified man wore a brown wig, women’s clothes and brown boots.
At approximately 1 p.m., an unknown male entered First Convenience Bank, located inside the Walmart Supercenter at 2550 Coors Blvd. NW. The suspect handed a demand note to a teller. The robber received an undisclosed sum of money and left the store through the west entrance.
