The New Mexico Music Awards (NMMA) has announced a call for entries for the 34th annual awards program. The entry deadline is Feb. 8, 2021.
Music produced in New Mexico during the 2020 calendar year is eligible for this year’s program. An awards banquet and show is held every May to present the awards while allowing songwriters, musicians, audio engineers, producers, managers, recording studio owners and other recording industry to network with one another.
The awards program provides education and encouragement to those working within the New Mexico music industry.

County Hosts Downtown Master Plan Public Meeting Jan. 27

Dekker/Perich/Sabatini (D/P/S) and the Los Alamos County Community Development Department will host a Zoom meeting 5:15-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27 for the public to learn more about progress being made on the Downtown Master Plans for Los Alamos and White Rock.

Bureau Of Land Management Seeks Public Input On Proposed Oil And Gas Lease Sale In New Mexico

SANTA FE — The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is asking for public input on two parcels (202.16 acres) of federal minerals proposed for the July 15, 2021, competitive oil and gas lease sale.
The public scoping period is Jan. 19, 2021 to Feb. 1, 2021.
This scoping process is intended to solicit public input on relevant issues, potential impacts, and alternatives that the BLM should address in an environmental assessment to be prepared in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act.

SANTA FE — Attorney General Hector Balderas announced that his office has secured a guilty plea from Lolita Begay-Yazzie to one count of Fraud in excess of $20,000, a second degree felony, and one count of Failure to Retain Documents, a fourth degree felony for defrauding New Mexico’s Medicaid program of more than $400,000.

The New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) issued an administrative compliance order to the Vision Mobile Home Park, LLC in Kirtland for its failure to properly manage and monitor sewage to protect groundwater and the health of residents.
