SBDC and LACDC Collaborate on New Model for Assisting Small Business
BUSINESS News:The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at UNM-Los Alamos and the Los Alamos Commerce and Development Corporation (LACDC) are working together to create a more efficient business model for the delivery of small business assistance services in Los Alamos.
Previously, the SBDC was operated by the LACDC in downtown Los Alamos. As of Jan. 1, 2013, the SBDC began operating under a contract with UNM-LA. The LACDC continued to assist businesses until the SBDC settled into its new offices on the UNM-LA campus.

Pink Canopy at Smith’s Gas Station Helping Fight Breast Cancer
The pink canopy at Smith’s gas station on the corner of Trinity Drive and Knecht Street is set up to sell cans of foam cleaner in an effort to raise money to fight breast cancer. Workers said the cans cost two for $25 and each can will shine an average size car six times including windows, mirrors, lights and paint. The sale will continue tomorrow while supplies last. The LACDC’s Meeting & Visitor Bureau is seeking volunteers to help with the seasonal increase in visitor traffic at the White Rock Visitor Center. As the weather begins to change and warmer days are ahead, the number of visitors that come through the doors will continue to increase.
The Atomic Transit shuttle season begins Friday, May 23 and will require that all Bandelier National Monument visitors park at the White Rock Visitor Center and ride a free shuttle to and from the Monument.
