Pajarito Greenhouse is known for strong plants

Even when April days remain blustery, Los Alamos residents can be sure spring is just around the corner when Pajarito Greenhouse is once again open for business.

This year, the greenhouse will open Wednesday, April 25.

Pajarito Greenhouse is a department of CB FOX Department Store, but it’s located at the home of Anne and Dave Fox at 238 Rio Bravo in the Pajarito Acres section of White Rock.

For 17 years, the greenhouse has provided the community with well-rooted, hardy plants in pots, ready to go in the ground, plus gardening supplies.

Rotary Meets Tuesday at Fuller Lodge

The Rotary Club of Los Alamos will meet at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday in the Nambe Room upstairs at Fuller Lodge.

Donnie Torres and Richard Matteson will talk about the latest developments at the Los Alamos Golf Course.

The Rotary Club of Los Alamos is one of only four clubs of the 71 that comprise District 5520 to be awarded the annual Literacy Award.

The local Rotary Literacy Committee includes Wendy Schmidt, Linda Anderson and Chris Sierk.

Workmen are still required in paving roads with these fancy machines. This crew mans the “lay-down” machine and assures an even thickness of the asphalt coating. The hot asphalt can melt the soles of the men’s boots if they stay in one pace to long. The N.M. 4 job will require two coats of material to form the finished roadway. Northern New Mexico Math and Science Academy aims to enhance professional development of K-12 math and science teachers in underserved rural school districts.

The New Mexico Consortium (NMC) will become the new fiscal agent for the Northern New Mexico Math and Science Academy (MSA).

Tom Rheam Trio Plays Blue Window Bistro April 21

The Blue Window Bistro in Los Alamos will host a Jazz Night featuring the Tom Rheam Trio Saturday, April 21. Tickets are $15 per person and dinner reservations are required.
