Topper Baseball Defeats Española Sundevils 17-3

The Los Alamos High School Hilltoppers traveled to Española Thursday afternoon to play the Sundevils in a conference game on Martinez Field. The Sundevils jumped out to an early lead but faded, and the Toppers ran the score up to 17-3 for the win. This brings the Toppers’ record to 6-1 in district play and 9-10 overall. Governor Establishes Energy Affordability And Grid Reliability Council

SANTA FE — Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham signed an executive order establishing the New Mexico Energy Affordability and Grid Reliability Council to address the rising cost of electricity in a rapidly changing energy landscape.

Texas Woman Sentenced For Fentanyl Distribution In Southern New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE — A Texas woman has been sentenced for her role in a drug trafficking organization that distributed fentanyl into southern New Mexico.

There is no parole in the federal system.

According to court documents, between Jan. 24, 2024, and Feb. 7, 2025, Mayra Mendivil, 37, participated in a drug trafficking organization operating between Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, and southern New Mexico. SANTA FE — House Republican Caucus Chair Rebecca Dow (R- Truth or Consequences) and Rep. Randall T. Pettigrew (R- Lea County) are urging the State Purchasing Division within the General Services Department to review a growing number of sole source contracts across state government.
