NMAA Eligibility Changes To Go Into Effect For 2026–2027

ALBUQUERQUE — Starting with the 2026-2027 school year, students may now transfer schools without penalty and be immediately eligible at the school of their choice on a first transfer (home school/charter school statutes still apply as do recruitment and undue influence rules). The measure is one of several changes to Section 6 of the New Mexico Activities Association Handbook. UNM-Los Alamos has begun the second phase of its outdoor infrastructure improvements project. Construction is currently underway in the campus courtyard, which will affect how visitors and students navigate the area during the summer.

FBI: Las Cruces Man Sentenced For Robbery

ALBUQUERQUE — A Las Cruces man was sentence to 18 months in prison for stealing merchandise from a Lowe’s store and threatening an employee with a firearm when confronted.
