Thursday morning, CEO/President of Los Alamos Schools Credit Union Matt Schmidt visited Chamisa Elementary School to teach four, third and fourth grade classes about financial literacy and the value of saving money.

Schmidt said, “It was a great chance to educate about the power of saving.” He added, ‘Mrs. Jiron is to be thanked for setting it up and inviting me to teach.” 

For his efforts, Schmidt was presented with a “check” that represented one thank you from each of the students he taught. The check was decorated with Hershey Kisses and Smarties.
