COUNTY News:
Los Alamos County Councilor Keith Lepsch recognized Dr. Michael Nichols for his 40 years of service as a pediatrician during Tuesday night’s meeting.
Lepsch stated:
WHEREAS, Dr. Michael W. Nichols, having practiced pediatric medicine at the Children’s Clinic in Los Alamos County for 40 years, has retired; and
WHEREAS, during his career, Dr. Michael W. Nichols significantly impacted our small community through his kindness, patience, concern, and outstanding care for our children; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Michael W. Nichols worked with compassion, never forsaking or compromising his ideals to always advocate for the health and well-being of our most vulnerable; and
WHEREAS, even during the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Michael W. Nichols was the first contributor to the Los Alamos County’s COVID-19 newsletter, and an early promoter of the effectiveness of vaccines to protect our children from the virus; and
WHEREAS, the community also owes a huge debt of gratitude to Dr. Michael W. Nichols’ wife and children who sacrificed various evenings and weekends away from their husband/father so that he could tend to patients.
NOW, THEREFORE, on behalf of the Council of the Incorporated County of Los Alamos, I do hereby recognize DR. MICHAEL W. NICHOLS
We are honored and privileged that he chose to dedicate 40 years as a pediatrician here in Los Alamos, providing excellent health care, but also selflessly listening and educating families. He is a Los Alamos community hero, and we wish him all the best.
