Los Alamos County Community Services Department (CSD) is working with Design Office, a professional consulting service to provide a conceptual design and layout for new and renovated trails in Pueblo Canyon.

Atomic City Transit: Detour On Route 2T Begins Thursday

Atomic City Transit (ACT) will modify the detour on Route 2T (White Rock via Truck Route) on the inbound trip through White Rock and up to the Transit Center due to road work on Sherwood Boulevard that will be moving North of Aztec Avenue starting Thursday, April 28.

The project is expected to take one week to complete. Once this project is complete, is is expected the detour that utilizes Aztec Avenue will resume on Route 2T.

Once again, young people are going to help keep Los Alamos County running this summer.

Starting June 13, the County is opening its doors and job positions to local and regional high school students in its paid summer internship program for teenagers.

Twenty-five students, whose ages range from 16 to 18, will be involved in the seven-week program. They will work across several County departments including Human Resources, Records Management, Community Development, Community Services, Police and Public Works.

County Council Tentatively Approves CIP Budget

Los Alamos County Council tentatively approved 6-1 the Capital Improvement Project (CIP) budget during Monday night’s meeting. Councilor David Reagor was opposed. A few amendments were made including adding a line item for a social services facility with a budget of $500,000 for FY23 and re-ordering on the budget the potential shared recreation spaces between Los Alamos County and Los Alamos Public Schools.
