The firm under contract to conduct the County’s survey was National Research Center. The County has been regularly conducting citizen satisfaction surveys since 1996.

The Los Alamos County Clerk’s Office wished longtime elections manager Gloria Maestas a happy retirement last month and welcomed Steve Fresquez in that role.

Fresquez joined the clerk’s team Nov. 30.

“When I found out Gloria was retiring it seemed like a great opportunity for me,” he said. “I like elections and I’ve worked with Los Alamos in the past … it just seemed like a great opportunity.”

Los Alamos County Issues Street Lights Safety Notice

COUNTY News:

The Los Alamos County Traffic & Streets Division is turning off power to select streetlights to enhance the viewing of holiday farolitos.

The streetlights will be turned off Thursday, Dec. 24 and restored Monday, Dec. 28.

Traffic & Streets requests that all vehicles and trailers be moved off-street. If this is not possible, it is recommended that they be silhouetted by farolitos.

Due to the limited sight visibility, drivers are requested to travel at 15 miles per hour.
