Los Alamos County Ice Rink Opens With Limits Saturday

The Los Alamos County Ice Rink will open Saturday, Dec. 26 as a “Close Contact Business” under the current Public Health Order(PHO).

Los  Alamos County Community Services Department (CSD) would like to thank County Council Chair Sara Scott in her efforts of contacting the Governor’s Office, supporting us to get the ice rink open. CSD also would like to thank other members of the public who also contacted the Governor’s office to support the opening of this important outdoor asset.

Utility Work On Diamond Drive To 41st Dec. 21 To Dec. 28

COUNTY News:

Beginning Monday, Dec. 21, and continuing through Monday, Dec. 28, crews from Marcon Excavating will be using a flagging setup in the area of Diamond Drive to 41st Street while they perform pothole operations for utility work.

After potholing is complete, Arkansas Avenue will be blocked to thru traffic from 41st to Diamond until the end of January 2021, to allow excavation for a water utility installation. 

Traffic into the Hilltop Shopping area will be facilitated by traffic signage and traffic control devices.  Through-traffic will be re-routed to Alabama Avenue at 41st Street. Read More

Los Alamos County Ice Rink Closed Until Further Notice

COUNTY News:

The Dec. 16, 2020 amended Public Health Order concerning COVID-19 identified ice rinks as close-contact recreational facilities that must remain closed while the county is in “Red” status.

Los Alamos County Announces Holiday Closure Dates

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County Administration Offices will be closed Christmas Day, Friday Dec. 25 and New Year’s Day, Friday Jan. 1.

For trash pick up, residents should place roll carts at the curb on the preceding Wednesdays (Dec. 23 and Dec. 30).

Other County facilities may be closed or have shortened hours of operation – check the Holiday Schedule webpage here, or call before heading out to visit the facility.
