County Moves Q&A On MRA Session To Nov. 5

Due to a scheduling conflict, Los Alamos County has rescheduled its question-and-answer session to discuss Metropolitan Redevelopment Areas (MRAs) in Los Alamos and White Rock to 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, in the Boards and Commissions Room, 1000 Central Ave.
A hybrid option will be available for remote participation via Zoom.

Central Avenue Between 15th & 20th Streets To Be Closed Tuesday For Gas Leak Repair Project
COUNTY News:
The block of Central Avenue between 15th Street and 20th Street will be closed to through traffic 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday while crews from the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) repair a gas leak.
On eastbound Central Avenue approaching 20th Street, all traffic will detour onto 20th Street. Westbound through-traffic on Central Avenue will detour onto 15th Street.

DPU Highlights Medical Equipment Alert Registry During Public Power Week

As part of Public Power Week, the Los Alamos County Department of Public Utilities (DPU) is reminding residents who rely on electrically powered, life-sustaining medical equipment to register for the department’s Medical Equipment Alert Program.

Wildfire Mitigation Work Begins On Bayo Canyon Trail Oct. 8

For public safety, and in coordination with the Los Alamos County Manager’s Office, the LAFD will temporarily close a section of the Bayo Canyon Trail beginning Wednesday, Oct. 8, to continue its three-phase wildfire fuels reduction project.
This effort marks Phase 2 of the project and is expected to last approximately one week, through Oct. 16, depending on weather conditions. County: North Mesa Road Pavement Preservation Project Begins Monday … Expect Lane Closures

The Los Alamos County Public Works Department announces that the next phase of the North Mesa Pavement Preservation Project will begin on Monday, Oct. 6, on North Mesa Road. Albuquerque Asphalt is performing the work.

At its meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 7, the Los Alamos County Council will consider a recommendation from the County Manager and Utilities Manager to approve an agreement with the law firm Stag Liuzza LLC.

Gross Receipt Tax (GRT) is hard to predict, Los Alamos County Administrative Services Director Helen Perraglio explained to County Council Tuesday night.
