Planning For 2019 Summer Concert Series Gets Under Way In February

Programming for the free 2019 Summer Concert Series is under contract, and planning for another season of musical acts will be getting under way in February.

Los Alamos County officials responded today to comments from the public questioning possible award of the contract for the popular Summer Concert Series to a new vendor.
Last year, the concerts were produced under a contract with Gordon’s Concerts LLC operated by Abe Gordon and Kara Robertson. Officials with the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities acknowledge that a problem occurred with the presentation of multiple utility bills that ran in January. These bills are displaying incorrect information as to the previous balance and the amount due.
The department is suspending bill processing activities for the rest of this week to work with its vendor to correct the issue.
“We apologize for this inconvenience,” Deputy Utilities Manager Bob Westervelt said. “Staff is committed to work with the vendor to correct this matter as expeditiously as possible.” Read More
Diamond Drive Striping Project Starts Thursday
COUNTY News:
The Los Alamos County Traffic and Streets Division will begin striping Diamond Drive at approximately 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
The crew will only be striping the center white line and certain areas with yellow pain, commencing at the Omega Bridge and working toward the round-a-bout at San Ildefonso Road, then heading back to the Omega Bridge.
Note: The paint will take longer to dry with the colder weather temperature. Motorists are advised to try not to cross on the fresh striping as paint will be disrupted and may get on vehicles and mark up other sections of the road.
