Chamber Business Breakfast: Commercial Code Enforcement And Building Permits/Licenses April 19

The next Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce Business Breakfast is 7:30- 9 a.m. Thursday, April 19 in Room 230, Building 2 at UNM-LA, 4000 University Dr.

 

Chief Building Official Michael Arellano and Fire Marshall Jeff Wetteland will discuss the County’s commercial code enforcement, as well as building licenses and permits, with a focus on how these may affect the business community.

Aquatic Center Invites Community To Share Memories Of Pool For 30th Birthday Wednesday, April 25

The Larry R. Walkup Aquatic Center is celebrating its 30th birthday Wednesday, April 25, and the community is invited to get involved in the festivities.

Recreation staff is seeking pool users and residents who would like to share memories of the pool during the last 30 years.

Second Half Property Tax Due By May 10

Los Alamos County would like to remind property owners that the second installment for 2017 property tax bills becomes delinquent after Thursday, May 10.
 
Payment must either be made in person by 5 p.m., May 10 at the Customer Care Center, or postmarked by midnight that same day to avoid late payment penalty and interest charges.

Los Alamos County Stage I Fire Restrictions After consulting with Los Alamos National Laboratory, and in cooperation with the Santa Fe National Forest, the Los Alamos Fire Department has announced that Los Alamos County will enter into Stage I Fire Restrictions, effective immediately.  
 
Under Stage I Fire Restrictions, the following acts are prohibited until further notice:

Home Renewal Program Cycle 3 Opens April 17

COUNTY News:

The Los Alamos County Community Development Department and the Los Alamos Housing Partnership (LAHP) announced today that Cycle 3 of the Home Renewal Program will open Tuesday, April 17.

Residents who meet income qualifications and require financial assistance to make repairs or improvements to their homes are encouraged to apply for this subsidized loan program. Homeowners are not required to make payments unless the home is sold or vacated.
