Los Alamos County Settles Sherman Dog Case
By MAIRE O’NEILLLos Alamos County has reached a settlement agreement with Leslie Sherman in connection with an incident in March 2017 where a small dog was killed by Sherman’s dogs at an Acoma Lane residence in White Rock.
A petition to adjudicate the two dogs as dangerous was filed in September in First Judicial Court by Los Alamos County Attorney Alvin Leaphart.
Sherman was charged in Los Alamos Magistrate Court in April with two counts of keeping an animal known to be vicious and likely to attack human beings. The dogs were seized and kept at the Los Read More

The Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) is seeking vendors interested in hosting food or other informational booths at Wildfire Day 2018, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 31 at Ashley Pond Park.

Dubbed the Lab Tax Stabilization Bill, SB17 was introduced by Senators Carlos R. Cisneros and Richard C. Martinez and Dist. 42 Rep. Stephanie Garcia Richard. La Cueva Road Closed For Emergency Repairs

The Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) has contracted with Paul Parker Construction to conduct emergency repairs to a sanitary sewer line that crosses La Cueva Street just north of Barranca Road.
Starting immediately, La Cueva will be closed for a period of two days at the section of road where excavation is underway. Local traffic will be rerouted on Cascabel Street to access La Cueva properties north of the closure.
