Utility Payment Method Enhanced With Convenience Feature

The payment portal used on the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) website for web payments has a new feature called BillWallet™ that allows customers to save payment information for more convenient future transactions.

Senior Centers Closed Aug. 26 For Staff Development

The Betty Ehart Senior Activity Center in Los Alamos and the White Rock Senior Activity Center will be closed on Tuesday, Aug. 26 for staff development.
All regular activities and congregate meal services will be canceled for the day. Home delivered meal recipients will receive a frozen meal in advance of the closure. The Senior Activity Centers will re-open Wednesday.

Scenes From 2025 ‘Guns Vs. Hoses’ For Special Olympics
Scene from the Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) and Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) charitable softball game dubbed ‘Guns vs. Hoses’ played Friday at Overlook Park in White Rock. Following a fun and exciting match, the hoses doused the guns 38-7. The teams played to raise money for the Special Olympics. It has been a long-standing tradition for LAPD and LAFD to come together to support local Special Olympics athletes. The Los Alamos County Golf Course and Bee City Los Alamos have partnered together to establish designated pollinator areas within specified rough areas of the course. Two locations have been identified, one on the front nine in the “Bermuda Triangle” of holes 1, 3, and 4, and the large area between holes 12 and 13 on the back nine.

Los Alamos Police Arrest Woman In Vehicle Theft Case
At approximately 9:15 a.m. today, Aug. 20, 2025, a female suspect stole a Los Alamos County vehicle from the area of Ashley Pond. Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) officers began canvassing the community in search of the stolen vehicle.
Approximately 90 minutes after the initial call, a Bandelier National Monument Park Ranger located the vehicle unoccupied at the White Rock Library. Responding officers initiated a search of the area and located the female suspect inside the women’s restroom of the library.
