Members of the public packed the room Thursday night for the Los Alamos County Parks and Recreation Board meeting and even spilled out into the hallway. The turnout seemed to suggest recreation is a prized commodity by this community.
“We want to have recreational opportunities for everyone,” said a member of the public.

Although Los Alamos County Council approved amendments to the development agreement for the A-19-A-1 site in White Rock, it was not an unanimous decision.
During the regular County Council meeting Tuesday, June 6, in Council Chambers, Council voted five to one to approve the amendments; Councilor Chris Chandler cast the opposing vote and Councilor James Chrobocinski was absent

UPDATE: Ramon Acosta was located by the Espanola Police Department last night and taken into custody.

Los Alamos Police Officers are searching for a 36-year-old male named Ramon Manuel Acosta.
Acosta fled from a crash scene on foot into the canyon south of Camino Cereza at approximately 4:30 p.m. today. He has an active warrant for a probation violation stemming from a robbery charge.
