A tour of the County’s solar array Saturday morning as part of Earth Day activities shows rows of solar panels constructed in 2011. It was explained during the tour that there is one 400 kilowatt panel, five that emit 100 kilowatts, and 10 that that emit 10 kilowatts. In total, the array generates one megawatt. Read More

The County Council affirmed their commitment Tuesday evening to give their full support and immediate attention to a 2017 focus area for community goals – build the local tourism economy – with their acceptance of a contract with Design Workshop to create a new Tourism Strategic Plan. Golf Course Improvements Long Overdue

Improvements to the Los Alamos Golf Course are long overdue. The last major capital improvements to the course occurred in 1970 and its irrigation system is 30 years old.

If passed, the $20 million recreation bond would provide an estimated $4.5 million to fix up the golf course. The proposed project would install a new irrigation system, aerate tees and fairways, improve greens and drainage, fix T-boxes and perform some bunker restoration. Read More
