I don’t care if you lie and say that you just want the electorate to decide whether or not to have a sheriff. But unless you actively support a ‘no’ vote on the proposal to eliminate the office of sheriff in Los Alamos County, I will find it very difficult if not impossible to vote for you in this upcoming election, no matter how completely we agree on other issues.

P&Z Comprehensive Plan Meeting Canceled For July 30
COUNTY News:
The Los Alamos County Planning and Zoning Commission meeting scheduled for Saturday, July 30 to discuss the Comprehensive Plan has been canceled due to a notification error.
A meeting to discuss the plan on Aug. 6 will proceed as scheduled. A second or possibly third meeting will be rescheduled in the future to discuss the draft land use maps and draft format of the Comprehensive Plan document.
The department thanks the community and apologizes for any inconvenience caused by the cancellation of the July 30 meeting. Read More

BPU To Hear Proposed Natural Gas Rate Decrease

The Department of Public Utilities (DPU) will bring to the Board of Public Utilities (BPU) a draft ordinance to decrease natural gas rates, as well as remove language related to the “sunset clause” associated with the pass-through rate. San Ildefonso Road Pedestrian Tunnel Closed Friday

Crews from Cisneros Concrete will be removing and replacing a small section of concrete inside the San Ildefonso Road pedestrian tunnel.

The Los Alamos County DWI Planning Council is seeking the public’s input related to DWI in the community.
Residents may have seen banners, posters and coasters from the DWI Planning Council as it steps up to take a more active role in the community. Given that, the DWI Planning Council wants to hear from residents about it should spend State of New Mexico grant funds in Los Alamos.
