Capital Project Public Meetings Continue This Month
COUNTY News:
Public meetings continue this month, as requested by the Council as part of their deliberations on narrowing a project list to fund possible future capital projects.
Based on Council direction on Dec. 8, 2015, the list of projects forms the basis for a new CIP, which could be funded either directly from CIP funds for design and construction, or, could be placed to a public vote no later than May 2017 and (if successful) paid for with a bond. Notice is hereby given by the Democratic Party of Los Alamos County that there will be a combined Ward and County Pre-Primary Convention at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22 at UNM-Los Alamos, Building 5 (Wallace Hall), 4000 University Dr. in Los Alamos.
Los Alamos County Democrats will meet to elect 15 Delegates to the State Pre-Primary Convention. Delegates will attend the State Convention in Albuquerque Saturday, March 12.

I want to commend ACT for their quick response to a dangerous bus stop. When I got off the bus this morning, the stop had been moved half a block up Rover Boulevard so folks no longer need to balance on the curb or be in traffic near the busiest intersection in White Rock. Within two days of pointing out the issue, ACT staff had it done.

Update – the staff has made it in to the Los Alamos and White Rock Visitor Centers today so both centers are open and operating during the regularly scheduled winter hours:
- Los Alamos remains open until 5 p.m.; and
- White Rock remains open until 2 p.m.

The Los Alamos County Clerk’s Office has completed the required canvass process to certify and finalize the 2016 Special Los Alamos Public Schools All Mail Election results.

Webtrac Phase 2 Goes Live Monday – Public Can Access County’s New Reservation Software

Los Alamos County’s Community Services Division is rolling out the second phase of the public interface for the new recreation reservation software, WebTrac, Monday, Feb. 1.
Phase I was rolled out in November and has received very positive feedback from community patrons. The new website is very user-friendly and allows customers to explore and sign up for recreation activities from the comfort of their own home.
As of Monday, patrons will have access to:
- Camping & vendor permit availability and reservations
- Park, pavilion, & shelter information, availability, and
