White Rock Branch Library will be closed next week for the big move to the new building. Concerned about getting your White Rock holds during the closure? Don’t worry! We will be holding White Rock items for pickup at Mesa during the transition. You also can change the location where you want to pick up your hold. It’s easy:
- Log in to the catalog and go to My Account.
- Select the Holds tab.
- Click the checkbox(es) next to the item(s) you wish to change.
- Click the green Edit Pickup Location(s)

The Los Alamos Triathlon is almost here.
The horn will blow at 7 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15 and racers will begin their bike-swim-run journey to the finish line.
The Los Alamos County Parks, Recreation and Open Space Division invites all people interested in participating to sign up for the race at the Walkup Aquatic Center or online at active.com.

The 43rd Annual Tour de Los Alamos Bicycle Race will take place on the morning of Sunday, July 12.
This race begins on Trinity Drive in downtown Los Alamos with eight different start times, depending on the category of racer. A car will lead out each race group in a neutral parade that goes over the Diamond Drive bridge toward Los Alamos National Laboratory. Once through the Laboratory VAP, the race begins at Casa Grande Drive, when the lead vehicle leaves the group of racers.

Los Alamos Utilities Board To Consider San Juan Generating Station Restructuring Agreements

Members of the Board of Public Utilities will decide to either approve or not approve the San Juan Generating Station restructuring agreements, which includes Los Alamos County and eight other plant owners.
If approved Wednesday July 15, the agreements will go to the County Council July 28 for its approval. According to Utilities Manager Timothy A. Glasco, these agreements have been in the works for years.

It’s been a great run of more than 20 years of Bear Camp at the Los Alamos County Ice Rink, but 2015 is the last summer this program will be offered by the County.
When Bear Camp began in the mid 1990’s it was to fill a gap in summer child care services but in the past five years numbers have continued to decline as many other camps have come to Los Alamos and there are several more summer camp activities to choose from. County To Repaint Central Crosswalks And Install New Shared Lane Pavement Markings

Los Alamos County Public Works Department crews will be repainting crosswalk markings and placing sharrows on Central Avenue Saturday, July 11, weather permitting.
Sharrows, or shared lane pavement markings, are used to indicate the travel lane is shared use for motorists and bicyclists. These new pavement markings are part of the County’s complete street program.
Crews will install the County’s first sharrows on Central Avenue between 15th Street and Oppenheimer. Read More
