Update: Water Repair On Diamond To Roll Into Weekend

COUNTY News:

Water repair work that began today will continue into the weekend and is expected to be completed Saturday.

The work impacts traffic on Diamond Drive passing the Los Alamos County Golf Course.

The westbound bicycle lane and the traffic lane adjacent to it will remain closed overnight and until the work is complete. A temporary bike lane is established in the right-hand closed traffic lane.

Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) Water Production crews will return around 8  a.m. Saturday to continue repair efforts.

Public reception toward the proposed Downtown Metropolitan Area (MRA) for East Downtown Los Alamos during a community forum Dec. 16 could be summed up in one word: skeptical.

Lifeguarding Review Course Jan. 4 At Aquatic Center

Los Alamos County announces an American Red Cross Lifeguarding Review Course being offered 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4.

The purpose of this Lifeguarding Review Course is to ensure participants who possess an American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuers maintain their skills and certifications. The cost to take this course is $180 per person.

Anyone holding the American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification qualifies to take the Lifeguard Review instead of retaking the complete Lifeguard Class.

Los Alamos County’s Environmental Services will accept household hazardous waste, 9 a.m. to  1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3 at the Eco Transfer Station at 3701 East Jemez Road.
