Jason Wardlow Herrera-D, files for Los Alamos County Sheriff this afternoon at the Municipal Building. Wardlow Herrera retired as Deputy Police Chief last year. He said one of the main duties of the Sheriff is to maintain the sex offender registry. ‘I think it is important for the community that our kids are safe … and that the community is safe in general.’ He added  that his experience with the police department would be beneficial because he already has a relationship with the department and a knowledge of the system and laws.
