New Mexico Promotes ‘No Fee November’ Apply To College
SANTA FE — The New Mexico Higher Education Department (NMHED) is partnering with the Public Education Department, the New Mexico Educational Assistance Foundation, and the state’s public colleges and universities to encourage New Mexicans to apply to college with waived application fees during National College Application Month this November.

Erin Cook, a sixth grade teacher at Mountain Elementary School, started a GoFundMe to support Mountain Elementary music teacher Galina Austin, whose husband unexpectedly passed away Thursday.

The Los Alamos High School Girls Soccer Kick for the Cure held Tuesday, Oct. 24 was a successful evening all around.
Sporting pink socks for the occasion and enduring the rain and cold, the Hilltoppers took the win for both games. The Girls Varsity team were victorious over the Taos Tigers with a 3-0 finish, and the Los Alamos Junior Varsity team defeated Santa Fe High School 4-2.

SANTA FE — Santa Fe Community College (SFCC) announces its Medical Assisting Program, which will have a series of information sessions about the college’s new Accelerated Medical Assisting Certificate program Nov. 7, 9 and 10 in Room the William C. Witter Fitness Education Center at 6401 Richards Ave.
Anyone can drop into the sessions at any time to get one-on-one information from representatives of the Medical Assisting program. The accelerated program takes only 18 weeks to complete.
