The Los Alamos Nature Center is showing the full-dome film “Exoplanets” at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4.
This film explores how it is known there are planets outside the solar system and which exoplanets could harbor life.
Seating is limited, so call the nature center at 505.662.0460 or stop by to reserve tickets. Admission is $6 for adults and $4 for children. Events in the planetarium are not recommended for children under age 4.

When Phil Rink was growing up in Los Alamos, he was a bright kid, already on the road to becoming the inventor and engineer he would be as an adult.
His favorite books were not about magic and dragons, nor were they about interpersonal relationships between young adults. He loved plot driven books that explained something, or taught how to solve a problem, he said. Now this type of book, think Nancy Drew or the Hardy Boys, has become hard to find. Several people from Los Alamos attended the League of Women Voters forum on immigration held Monday in Santa Fe. The audience of more than 200 people was educated on the law and what can and cannot be done. The Asylum law that was signed by the United States immediately after WWII lays out the procedural process for those fleeing their home country. A portrait of the late Duane W. Smith will be unveiled at 6 p.m., May 3 and dedicated to the newly remodeled Duane W. Smith Auditorium. Artist Craig Tyler will be present.
This celebration will be followed by a concert featuring Venezuelan pianist Gabriela Montero beginning at 7 p.m., sponsored by the Los Alamos Concert Association.

In partnership with the Bradbury Science Museum Association (BSMA), recently provided bus transportation for 134 students from San Juan Elementary School in Espanola, Milagro Middle School in Santa Fe and Lybrook Elementary School in Counselor.
The BSMA/LANB partnership is enabling students from northern New Mexico Title 1 Schools to travel to the museum and visit Los Alamos.
