UNM-LA Introduces Common Course Numbering

UNM-LA News:

UNM-Los Alamos (UNM-LA), in conjunction with The University of New Mexico, is transitioning to the new state Common Course Numbering (CCN) system beginning Fall 2019 semester.

All higher education institutions in New Mexico will share the same CCNs for most of the 100 and 200-level courses, to ease transfers between higher education schools and encourage students to complete higher degrees.

Prior to the new statewide CCN system, the curriculum of required courses (such as English 110) has varied at different colleges, and credits have not always transferred between colleges. Read More

The first ever Teen Night is happening at the Bradbury Science Museum, 5-7 p.m. Friday, April 19.

Created by the Bradbury Science Museum Association (BSMA) Teen Advisory Board, the event will have free food (catered by Sirphey!), a Bill Nye screening, remote control robots from the local FTC team (the Hawks), trivia and more. All high schoolers are welcome.

Los Alamos Public Schools recently completed renovations to one of its leased facilities in Building 6 on the UNM-LA campus.

This 11,002 square foot space is leased out to the Los Alamos National Laboratory and is one of three facilities LAPS leases to the Lab. The space was vacated during the renovation and LAPS is pleased to be able to return the space to them on time as scheduled.

Registration for the New Mexico PreK program at Los Alamos Public Schools opens at 8 a.m., Wednesday, April 10
 
There are two half-day programs available (AM or PM, 3 hours each) located at Piñon Elementary School in White Rock. Enrollment for the NM PreK program is by lottery.
 
To participate in this program, your child must:
  • Be 4 years old on or before August 31, 2019; and
