This is an invitation for comments and suggestions about a pilot safety initiative being implemented this year at Los Alamos Public Schools athletic events.
The pilot program includes a “no re-entry” practice for scheduled games at Sullivan Field, Griffith Gym, Brousseau Gym and Hawk Field. For the safety and security of students and guests, re-entry into athletic events at Los Alamos High School and Los Alamos Middle School is currently restricted.

By DAWN JALBERTI almost never respond to letters to the editor in any newspaper, but this time I am emailing in response to Ms. Montoya and her recent letter about teaching licensure to strongly suggest she find a good proofreader for her future written communication.
As a former teacher, I longed for a writing conference with her before she hit “send” on her letter, or at the very least, a red pen to correct the many, many grammar, usage and mechanics issues with her letter, not to mention the issues with writing clarity. What a mess!

AMES, Iowa – Sydney Andrews from Los Alamos is attending graduate school at Stony Brook University this fall on a U.S. Department of Energy fellowship.
Andrews is one of fewer than 6 percent of applicants to receive the DOE Computational Science Graduate Fellowship (DOE CSGF). Andrews is studying toward a doctoral degree in Astrophysics.
