Online registration for kindergarten at all Los Alamos Elementary schools is now available through the Los Alamos Public Schools’ website, so click here for more information on how to register enroll via Infosnap.

Be sure to register your child as soon as possible, preferably prior to Kindergarten Round Up, which is scheduled for Wednesday, April 4, 2018, for all elementary schools. Round Up gives parents and children an idea of what to expect for kindergarten.

LANL Foundation Call For Applications: Scholarships Available For Nontraditional Students & Native American Students Seeking Business Degrees

The LANL Foundation, through the Los Alamos Employees’ Scholarship Fund, is accepting applications starting April 2 for Northern New Mexico Tribal Business Scholarships and Regional College/Returning Student Scholarships.

Northern New Mexico College FY2017 Audit Released

Northern New Mexico College’s FY 2017 audit was released Friday, containing 48 findings. The majority of the findings are already in the process of remediation.
 
The FY 2017 audit, along with the special forensic audit released Feb. 12, have been the most thorough assessments of the College’s accounting and control systems in recent history.
 
These audits have shed much needed light on the vulnerabilities that exist within the College’s accounting and control systems, and establish a roadmap of action toward stronger financial oversight.

A1C Mary Grubel, daughter of Dr. Patricia Grubel and Lt. Col. Paul Grubel of Los Alamos graduated March 23 from U.S. Air Force Basic Military Training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.

Airman Grubel is a distinguished graduate of Basic Military Training.

She will attend technical training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., where she will be trained in Emergency Management.

UNM-Los Alamos (UNM-LA) instructor Dr. Renae Mitchell will screen the PBS film “Kingdom of Shadows” at noon Monday, April 2 in the Lecture Hall of Building 2.

In conjunction with her class AMST 185: Intro to Race, Class and Ethnicity, Mitchell is screening three different PBS Point of View films; each provides an in-depth look at the lives of people outside of the stereotypical American norm.
