SANTA FE ― American Federation of Teachers President New Mexico President Stephanie Ly and Albuquerque Teachers Federation President Ellen Bernstein released the following statement:

“Today’s order from the 1st District Court in Santa Fe means that instead of proceeding with our lawsuit in October, as previously scheduled, it will be again delayed due to the New Mexico Public Education Department’s inability to comply with the Court’s orders for discovery and their failure to disclose critical information and data to AFT NM/ATF lawyers.

“Agricultural and wetland emissions” from the planet’s tropical areas, not oil and gas activities in the United States, are more than likely responsible for a post-2007 global increase in methane levels, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Climate.gov.

But regulating or mitigating those methane sources could be difficult or impossible.

New Mexico State Police Starts Lateral Academy

SANTA FE ― The New Mexico State Police Lateral Academy got underway July 16 in Santa Fe.

Twenty officers from around the state were selected to attend the academy after meeting all qualifications during the stringent application process.

The State Police Lateral Academy is an eight-week academy for certified police officers with at least two years of law enforcement experience. The lateral academy will equip these officers with the additional training required to become a New Mexico State

JJAB Fundraiser Provides School Supplies For LAPS

The Los Alamos Juvenile Justice Advisory Board (JJAB) is raising funds to provide school supplies for Los Alamos Public School students.
