Heinrich Proposal To Reinstate Year-Round Pell Grants Included In Bipartisan Budget Deal

WASHINGTON, D.C.  U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) has announced that his proposal to reinstate year-round Pell Grants was secured in the omnibus appropriations bill approved in the Senate.
 
The deal includes provisions from the Year-Round Pell Grant Restoration Act, which Heinrich co-sponsored, that would allow low- and moderate-income students to use Pell Grants for three semesters each academic year, rather than the current law’s limit of two semesters.

Mysteries In Los Alamos Nature Center Planetarium

To prepare for the upcoming Bear Festival, this Friday there will not be an evening planetarium show. However, there will be fun for the whole family at the Los Alamos Nature Center Saturday, May 13, including New Mexico’s first Bear Festival, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and a full-dome planetarium show at 2 p.m. of Mysteries of the Unseen World.
