The community is invited to tour the newly remodeled Los Alamos High School Music Wing and Topper Freshman Academy at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17 or 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18.
Tours will begin in the High School Lobby.
The music wing is used for high school and community choir, band, orchestra, dance and theater rehearsals. All interior spaces were renovated, including the addition of seven practice rooms and dedicated storage areas for instruments and music.

Los Alamos Youth Activity Center Gets Remodeled

The Youth Activity Center (YAC) in Los Alamos, operated from the south side basement of the Community Building on 20th Street, is scheduled for remodeling starting mid-January.
Improvements include leveling the uneven floor and updating the nearly 30-year-old finishes.
After completion of improvements to the Los Alamos Teen Center, staff from the Los Alamos Family Council, operator of the YAC, requested improvements to the obsolete and deteriorated interior. With project savings from the Teen Center and others, this task became possible.

Each one hour credit session will meet from 7-7:50 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, with Part I meeting Jan. 18-March 10, and Part II meeting March 20-May 12. This course will give health professionals from diverse backgrounds the opportunity to learn medical Spanish in order to communicate with their Spanish-speaking patients more effectively.

The Los Alamos High School Hilltoppers Swimming and Diving teams competed Jan. 6-7 at the Lubbock High School Swimming and Diving Invitational at the Pete Ragus Aquatic Center in Lubbock, Texas.
The invitational was a very competitive high school meet, drawing 500 swimmers and divers from across Texas, with teams from greater Dallas, Midland and El Paso.
