Pinon Elementary School Yearbook Advisor Kateri Morris is collecting photographs of Pinon Elementary School staff, students and facilities from the 1960s and 1970s to include in the 2014-2015 yearbook – the school’s 50th Anniversary Edition.
Anyone with photographs from the 1960s and 1970s they would like to share is asked to contact the elementary school’s parent-teacher organization at pinonpto@gmail.com.

The organization, which provides assistance for those experiencing pregnancy for the first time, new families and couples who are adopting children, celebrated its new start with a kick-off party Feb. 25 at Bridge Care for Women. Learn basic infant and child CPR and first aid to be calmer and more prepared in the event of an emergency.
Certified CPR instructor Steve Bond teaches CPR for infants under 1 year old and children ages 1 year to eight years. He will teach an Infant/Child CPR And First Aid class 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 14 at Family Stengths Network (FSN) in Pueblo Complex on Diamond Drive.

The annual Los Alamos Historical Society escorted bus tour to the site of the first atomic test, Trinity Site, will be April 3-4, this time via Alamogordo.

Boys And Girls State Coming Up In May
POST 90 News:
American Legion Post 90 is encouraging high school students to attend this year’s Boys and Girls State.
Boys’ State is May 24-29 at Eastern New Mexico College in Portales. Girls’ State begins May 31.
Students who completed their junior year are eligible to attend. Completing the event will provide three college credits that are transferrable anywhere. Two bills are currently pending legislature to also award participants high school credit, too.
