Los Alamos High School junior August Ovaska was elected to serve as Vice President of Marketing for New Mexico DECA for the 2025-2026 academic year. Ovaska is one of four high school DECA students in New Mexico who were elected to fill the 2025-2026 state officer positions.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Sens. Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.), Katie Britt (R-Ala.), Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii), and Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.) announced that their bipartisan resolution recognizing the importance and contributions of National Board Certified Teachers (NBCTs) passed the Senate.
