SFNF Issues Closure Order For Cerro Pelado Fire

SANTA FE – The Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) has issued a closure order to protect public health and safety during fire operations on the Cerro Pelado Fire.
The order is effective immediately and through Dec. 31, 2022, unless rescinded earlier.
The Cerro Pelado Fire started April 22 about 7 miles east of Jemez Springs on the Jemez Ranger District. The cause is under investigation. SANTA FE — Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham signed an executive order declaring a state of emergency in Mora County Saturday, making funding and state resources available for communities battling ongoing wildfires.
