SANTA FE – More than 40 years after the suit was first filed, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham announced today a historic settlement intended to equitably resolve the long-running litigation that developed into the stipulated agreement commonly known as the Duran consent decree.

Governor’s Mansion Furnishings On Sale To Public

SANTA FE Furnishings removed from the governor’s mansion will be available for sale to the public 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at the State Surplus warehouse in Santa Fe.
 
The furnishings include a kitchen table with chairs, dressers, side tables, lamps, coffee table, lounging chair, framed prints and knick-knacks. The items were sent to State Surplus after Gov. Susana Martinez left office at the end of 2018.
 
About a dozen government vehicles also will be available at the monthly public sale of the State Surplus Bureau. Other items available include knives surrendered

Candidate Pat Soran, seated, and Campaign Manager Rick Reiss were at the Los Alamos Municipal Building this afternoon to file for Soran’s current seat, Position 3 on the UNM-Los Alamos Advisory Board. Julia Baker filed as a candidate for school board representing District 4, which includes Barranca and North Mesas. ‘My family has been blessed by the schools here,’ Baker said. ‘I have a background in teaching so I think I’d be a good fit for the school board.’ Baker taught fifth grade in Utah and currently stays at home to take care of her five children, ages 3-13. Laura Burrows filed for Position 3 on the UNM-Los Alamos Advisory Board this morning. She also filed by proxy for Chris Luchini who is running for Position 4 on the UNM-LA Advisory Board. Burrows said she is running to become more involved with the Los Alamos community. A longtime teacher, Burrows currently serves as a substitute teacher for both the Los Alamos Public Schools and UNM-LA’s ESL and High School Equivalency programs. Morrie Pongratz is the first to file this morning at the County Municipal Building as a candidate for Los Alamos School Board. Pongratz resides in the Aspen District and served on the School Board from 2003-2007. During that term the board helped start the Juvenile Justice Advisory Board and the LAPS Foundation. New Mexico Human Services Department Reaches Settlement With Two More Behavioral Health Providers

HSD News:
 
SANTA FE The New Mexico Human Services Department has reached settlement agreements with two more behavioral health organizations to whom Medicaid payments were frozen in 2013 by the Martinez administration. Settlement agreements were reached with:
  • TeamBuilders Counseling Services, Inc.; and
  • Counseling Associates, Inc.
 
Last month HSD announced it had settled with:
  • Hogares, Inc;
  • Valencia Counseling Services, Inc.; and
  • The Counseling Center, Inc.
