CINCINNATI – The U.S Department of Energy (DOE) Environmental Management Consolidated Business Center recently announced the award of a contract to CAST Specialty Transportation, Inc. (CAST) of Henderson, Colo., for the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) transportation services. The Indefinite-Delivery, Indefinite-Quantity contract will use firm-fixed price task orders, with some cost reimbursement (no fee) items, with an estimated value up to $112 million. There seems to be a debate of how much funding the County should return to the Sheriff’s Office. I guess I was confused – what he actually wants to do is give prisoner transport to the Sheriff, or more accurately, to allow the Sheriff to “assist” in prisoner transport.
