Santa Fe National Forest Plans Prescribed Fire Projects In Española Ranger District

SANTA FE—Fire Managers from the Española Ranger District are preparing and planning for multiple prescribed fire projects tentatively planned for fall and winter.

A final decision to proceed with a prescribed fire on the Santa Fe National Forest  (SFNF) depends on agency administrator approval, resource availability, and favorable conditions including fuel moisture levels, air quality and forecast weather. The Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) has issued a temporary closure for sections of Forest Road 102 and the Windsor Trail in the Española Ranger District. This is a temporary closure to protect traditional and cultural resources and uses.

This Order went into effect at 8 a.m. Sept. 12 and remains in effect through 8 a.m. Sept. 15, unless rescinded.

NNSA Publishes Electrical Power Capacity Upgrade Factsheet With Answers To Frequently Asked Questions

The National Nuclear Security Administration has developed a factsheet with answers to frequently asked questions about the Los Alamos National Laboratory Electrical Power Capacity Upgrade project.

The NNSA, in cooperation with the U.S. Forest Service, Santa Fe National Forest, and the Bureau of Land Management Taos Field Office, has completed an Environmental Assessment for the project.

The EA is undergoing further National Environmental Policy Act requirements with Santa Fe National Forest.
