County Seeks Volunteers For May Trails Day
The Los Alamos County Parks and Open Space team is seeking volunteers to help them work to rejuvenate the Pueblo Canyon Rim Trail on May 11 for May Trails Day.
Volunteers will enhance trailhead access, repair eroded sections, build water diversions and clear overgrown vegetation. “Let’s make our trails better together!”

SANTA FE – Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) fire managers were notified of a new wildfire start, named the Dry Gulch Wildfire, located in the Pecos Ranger District, south of Dalton Canyon and west of N.M. 63 this morning April 26, 2024.
The cause of the wildfire is undetermined, but lightning was confirmed in the area Thursday night and there are no prescribed fire projects near the wildfire start.

SANTA FE — The state announced Tuesday the release of New Mexico’s inaugural Climate Adaptation and Resilience Plan (CARP).

The Los Alamos Arts Council and Enterprise Bank & Trust bring the community a weekend of kite flying festivities at Overlook Park Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28.
Kite Festival is an annual tradition in Los Alamos County, bringing kite enthusiasts from around the region to fly kites of all types and to share this historic art form with children of all ages. Community members who water outdoor spaces are reminded that the irrigation schedule under Water Rule W-8 will be in effect from May 1 through Sept. 30. Falling under the rules and regulations of the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU), W-8 outlines requirements for the conservation of water that is delivered to and used by DPU customers.
