Los Alamos, New Mexico— The Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) is proposing changes to Rule E-5 under its rules and regulations. Rule E-5 covers standards for interconnection of customer-owned rooftop photovoltaic (PV) systems.

County Tree Trimming Underway For 2024
Spring has sprung, so County tree trimming has begun. Coordinated by the Department of Public Utilities (DPU) to mitigate hazards and power outages, the tree trimming effort targets branches that are in the right-of-way or on utility easements for power lines.
DPU’s contractor, Southwest Fire Defense & Tree Services, is conducting the work throughout Los Alamos County. The work is planned on a neighborhood-by-neighborhood basis in order of priority. While current trimming is occurring in the townsite, some White Rock neighborhoods are on the list as well.
