Giant Impact Caused Difference In Moon’s Hemispheres
Artist’s depiction of a collision between two planetary bodies. New research suggests the stark difference between the Moon’s heavily-cratered farside and the lower-lying open basins of the nearside were caused by a wayward dwarf planet colliding with the Moon in the early history of the solar system. Peregrine Falcon Rescued In Los Alamos
This Peregrine Falcon was rescued Tuesday morning in Los Alamos. The falcon will become an education bird for the Raptor Center. It must have flown into the power lines and burnt off part of her wing and appeared to be hopping across the property and down into the canyon to get back to its nest. A smaller bird flew to her and then flew away. Dr. Kathleen Ramsey said the recued falcon is healthy. Courtesy photo Read More
