The 3rd Annual “Run for Life!” 5K Run/1 Mile Walk is Saturday, May 5. The registration fee is $25 for adults, $15 for students, $5 under 12 and $20 per person for groups of eight or more adults. Packet pick up begins at 8 a.m. and the race begins at 8:30 a.m. May 5.

NMED Announces Public Comment Period On Draft Volkswagen Beneficiary Mitigation Plan

NMED News:

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Environment Department is seeking public comment on the Draft Volkswagen Beneficiary Mitigation Plan. The plan summarizes the State’s goals for the allocation of approximately $18 million towards eligible projects.

Eligible projects are required to mitigate the excess nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions caused by Volkswagen’s use of illegal defeat devices in certain diesel vehicles in years past.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah  The Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Reclamation Wednesday awarded a $17.68 million contract to Weeminuche Construction Authority of Towaoc, Colo., which is 100 percent owned by the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe, for modification work at Steinaker Dam near Vernal, Utah.
