With the recent withdrawal from the Paris agreement on climate change, cities and towns around the country are developing independent plans to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. As our community’s very existence is predicated on science, we should be among them. A very simple and effective way that we can reduce our carbon footprint would be to use a portion of the now available CIP funds to install solar panels on our larger county facilities.

Scenes From Lightning Strike At Los Pueblos Home

Los Alamos Firefighters at the scene of this evening’s lightning strike at a home on Los Pueblos. Los Alamos Fire Chief Troy Hughes told the Los Alamos Daily Post this evening that everyone in the home got out without injury. He said the fire is now out, adding that the home has sustained some damage due to the fire that broke out in the attic from the lightning strike and investigators are on scene. LAKEWOOD, Colo. – Coordinated releases from a series of Upper Colorado River Basin reservoirs began Saturday, June 3, and are anticipated to continue through this week as part of the Coordinated Reservoirs Operations Program.
