The National Weather Service (NWS) reports that weather conditions will continue to deteriorate across the region through tonight as a potent upper level storm system approaches from Arizona.
 
Widespread heavy rainfall is still expected to impact the lower elevations through Sunday while very heavy snow impacts the higher terrain.

Santa Fe National Forest To Host Another Round Of Public Meetings On Forest Plan Revision

SANTA FE ― The Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) will host 10 public meetings and a two-day technical meeting between Jan. 17 and Feb. 9, 2017, as part of the multi-year effort to revise the comprehensive plan that will guide forest management, use and protection for the next 10 to 15 years.
 
This round of public meetings will give members of the public an opportunity to discuss and comment on initial plan components and the draft wilderness evaluation maps.

BLM Seeks Comments On New Mexico Gas Company Taos Mainline Re-route Project

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Taos Field Office is seeking public comment on the draft environmental assessment (EA) for the proposed relocation of approximately six miles of the New Mexico Gas Company’s Taos Mainline. 
 
This is a natural gas utility pipeline that serves as the only purveyor of natural gas to the communities of Taos, Questa, and Red River in Taos County, New Mexico. The public comment period will be open from January 10, 2017, to February 10, 2017.
