ALBUQUERQUE — beWellnm, the New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange, announced Saturday the beginning of the Open Enrollment Period for Plan Year 2022.
Tens of thousands of New Mexicans are eligible to receive health insurance at little or no cost beginning Jan. 1, 2022.
The beWellnm Open Enrollment Period will last until Jan. 15, 2022 for Plan Year 2022. If New Mexicans enroll by Dec. 23, 2021, their coverage begins Jan. 1, 2022. If they enroll by Jan. 15, 2022, their coverage begins Feb. 1, 2022.

SANTA FE — New Mexico state health officials announced Friday 1,180 additional COVID-19 cases.
Los Alamos County reported 2 new cases Friday, bringing the total to 989 people who have tested positive for COVID-19. (County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.)
This update includes 28 new deaths in New Mexico related to COVID-19 and a 7-Day positivity rate of 10.0 percent.
Per the state Department of Health, the most recent cases are:

No Mobile Curative COVID Testing In Los Alamos Dec. 23-30
COUNTY News:
The mobile Curative COVID testing site in Los Alamos will not be available on Thursdays, Dec. 23 and 30 in observance of the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
Curative provides free, shallow, nasal swab COVID-19 testing to anyone wishing to be tested, with or without symptoms.
The mobile testing site sets up in the Mari Mac parking lot at 759 Central Ave., 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Appointments may be scheduled at https://curative.com.

Power Now Restored To Western Area
COUNTY News:
The Los Alamos County Department of Public Utilities (DPU) reports that Western Area is the latest part of the townsite to have power restored after an early morning outage affected the entire Los Alamos townsite.
Circuit 13 was restored around 9:20 a.m. However, the ski hill, which is normally on that circuit, has been isolated and is still without power.
Circuits 14, 17 and 18 were energized earlier, restoring power to Eastern Area and the downtown area.
DPU crews are working to restore power to North Mesa, Barranca Mesa and North Community.

New Mexico DOH Identifies First Omicron COVID-19 Case
DOH News:
SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Health (DOH) announced today its first identified case of the COVID-19 Omicron variant.
The case was identified Sunday, Dec. 12 and is a female adult in Bernalillo County. The individual reported recent domestic travel to a state with reported cases of Omicron.

NMDWS Conducting Public Hearing For Proposed New Mexico Healthy Workplaces Act Regulations Wednesday

ALBUQUERQUE — New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS) will be conducting a public hearing Wednesday, Dec. 15, to accept comments on proposed regulations for implementation of the Healthy Workplaces Act (HWA), a new law passed by the Legislature and signed into law by Gov. One of the most effective restorative yoga poses is called Feet Up the Wall Pose or Viparita Karani. This is one of the easiest ways to turn yourself upside down without having to do a handstand or headstand and it’s just as, if not more beneficial for the mind and body.
This is a wonderful pose to do if you are stressed, have anxiety or depression or are just looking to see a different perspective on a problem. The idea is to melt into the floor and just let go.
