New Mexico COVID-19 Cases Now At 23

STATE News:

SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials announced today additional positive tests for COVID-19.

Per the New Mexico Department of Health, the most recent cases are:

​A man in Taos County in his 50s; and

​A man in Santa Fe County in his 40s.

Including the above newly reported cases, New Mexico now has 23 positive tests for COVID-19:

  • ​Bernalillo County: 14
  • ​Sandoval County: 2
  • ​​Santa Fe County: 4
  • ​​​Socorro County: 2

Luján Announces Plans To Self-Quarantine, Despite No Symptoms, Issues Update Congressional Offices Operations

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Rep. Ben Ray Luján (D-N.M.), the U.S. House Assistant Speaker, announced Monday plans to self-quarantine after a brief interaction with an individual who was at the time asymptomatic but later tested positive for COVID-19.

Luján is exhibiting no symptoms, and health professionals have advised that he is at a low probability for infection. He first learned of the individual’s diagnosis Sunday afternoon. Board Of Public Utilities Moves Meeting To March 25

Board of Public Utilities News:

The Board of Public Utilities (BPU) has rescheduled its March 18 meeting to occur one week later at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 25 in Council Chambers at 1000 Central Ave.

While Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) staff will present to the BPU in council chambers, BPU members will participate by phone. This social distancing is to comply with the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

SF Animal Shelter Updates Operations Due To Pandemic

SFAS News:

Until further notice, to ensure the health and safety of shelter employees, the Santa Fe Animal Shelter will limit many of its programs effectively immediately.  

Adoptions will be open to the public 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Adoptions will be closed to the public Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Western National Parks Assoc. To Temporarily Close Stores

SANTA FE – Officials from the New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOW) announced today that two women and two men have positive tests for COVID-19.

Per the NMDOH, the most recent cases include:

  • A 20-year-old male in Bernalillo County;
  • Two 30-year-old females in Bernalillo County; and
  • An 80-year-old male in Bernalillo County
